Thirteen statues were placed in historically significant locations around Rochester, NY as a part of the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Celebrations in 2018. This statue was located at the last stop on the Underground railroad in Maplewood park, or Kelsey's Landing. Escapees could take a boat to freedom in Canada.
